The "Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana" (MKUY) guidelines outline the subsidies and assistance provided to agri-entrepreneurs in Odisha for agro-tourism. Here's a summary of the key subsidies available under the scheme:


Government schemes


  1. General Male Entrepreneurs:

    • 40% of fixed capital investment (excluding land cost) up to ₹1.00 crore.


  2. SC/ST/Women/Transgender/PwD/Graduates of Agriculture and Allied Disciplines:

    • 50% of fixed capital investment (excluding land cost) up to ₹1.00 crore.


  3. Group Entities (e.g., Farmer Producer Organizations, NGOs, SHGs, Cooperative Societies):

    • 40% subsidy up to ₹1.00 crore.

    • If all members are from eligible categories (e.g., SC/ST/Women/Transgender), the subsidy is 50%, capped at ₹1.00 crore.


  4. Family Limit:

    • A family can avail up to ₹1.00 crore under MKUY.


  5. Subsidy Renewal:

    • Eligible for new projects or expansions after 10 years if earlier subsidies were fully utilized and projects completed successfully.


Eligible Expenses for Subsidy assistance in agro-tourism


  1. Civil Construction:

    • The subsidy is available for infrastructure directly related to agri-enterprises (e.g., office, storage, machinery rooms).


  2. Machinery and Equipment:

    • Costs of equipment and machinery for processing, irrigation, and production.


  3. Electrical and Water Supply Installations:

    • Includes transformers, irrigation systems, and water storage.


  4. Horticulture Plantations:

    • Cost of protected infrastructure and planting as per government norms.


  5. Insurance:

    • One year’s premium for insuring capital assets (e.g., livestock, machinery) is eligible.


  6. DPR Preparation:

    • Subsidy for the cost of preparing a Detailed Project Report (up to ₹50,000).


Eligibility for Entrepreneurs


  • Must have land records or lease agreements for at least 15 years (or 9 years for rented premises).

  • Minimum age: 18 years.

  • Open to individuals, partnerships, FPOs, NGOs, cooperatives, and companies.


Process and Conditions for registration


  1. Application:

    • Submit online with required documents, including DPR and geo-tagged site photographs.

    • Application fees:

      • ₹500 for SC/ST/Women/Transgender/PwD/Graduates in Agriculture and Allied Disciplines.

      • ₹2000 for others.


  2. Completion Time:

    • Projects must be completed within two years from the issue of the "Go Ahead" letter.

    • Delays reduce the subsidy (20%-50%) or may result in disqualification.


  3. Disbursement:

    • Capital Investment Subsidy is released upon project completion and verification by APICOL and District Committees.
